Hi, I'm Lily
I'm the founder of Polish & Paper, and I want to become your favorite writing coach! If you are here, then you must be looking for some assistance, and I would love to help! I offer writing assistance for college application essays, cover letters and resumes for jobs and internships, and school papers and essays.
I attained my master’s degree in International Affairs from Boston University (2025) and my bachelor’s degree in English and Anthropology from Butler University (2022). I have years of experience tutoring writing to students of all ages, including being a peer undergraduate mentor, a writing tutor for high schoolers, and a Graduate Writing Fellow at Boston University helping master's and doctoral students.
I am excited to get to work with your students as they begin or further their collegiate experience!

Do I have a graduate degree? What about an undergraduate degree? Of course. I even spent a year working at Disney World.
As a collegiate, I was awarded multiple awards for my writing and work in my two majors. I also served as a peer mentor, where I helped high school students with their class assignments, and even more importantly, I encouraged their academic and creative growth, aiding many of them in their college application and scholarship essays. An added bonus was that I was able to work with students who were learning English as a second language, providing me with the communication skills necessary to navigate language barriers.
Graduating from Butler didn’t stop my love of helping others. In fact, after completing a year-long professional internship at Walt Disney World, I jumped back into academics for my master’s degree at Boston University where I became a Graduate Writing Fellow. There I helped undergraduate students, master’s students, and doctoral students write application essays, papers and essays for class assignments, and cover letters for internships and job applications.
Why Polish & Paper?
I view myself as a personal writing coach who will use all of my skills to give my student that extra edge to elevate them from the crowd. Equally important, I want to help my student feel confident in their own abilities and raise their self-esteem and motivation.
When we work together, I use each session to get to know my student and allow them to express their goals so that they feel that they are getting exactly what they want from each session. I can work through all stages of the writing process with my student or can jump right in and work on just one troublesome area. Everything is customized! When working on class papers, sometimes it means brainstorming together and working on essays completely different from my areas of study. However, that isn’t a problem because a good writing coach can jump into any topic and help eliminate those obstacles holding back the student.
Jobs and internships are looking for that specific person whose cover letter or resume rises above other applicants. Teachers are looking for well written papers written by the student and not by AI. Colleges are looking for essays that show them who a student is.
My goal is not to mold the students I work with into the perfect student, but to polish them into portraying the best versions of themselves in their writing.
